I have been a student of animal behavior
all my life. I grew up in a lakeside home in Michigan,
rescuing and training everything from ducks to dogs
and horses. I graduated from Colorado State University
with a degree in zoology and completed a masters degree
in Communications and Environmental Education while
on a fellowship at the University of Wisconsin. While
traveling in countries throughout the world, I observed
firsthand the neglect and abuse of dogs in many human
cultures. After a brief career as an editor and writer,
I returned with my husband to the Colorado mountains.
I've devoted my life to caring for my family and the
many animals I have rescued. In addition to rehabilitating
over a hundred abused and abandoned animals, primarily
dogs, I've raised and trained dressage horses and instructed
riders. |

with "miraculous" results. Training a dog
takes time, diligence and patience, and must be constantly,
