The best luxury hotels in Portland, Oregon:
The
5th Avenue Suites Hotel
The 5th Avenue Suites Hotel opened its doors in downtown
Portland, Oregon in May 1996. After extensive renovation,
the 1912 building that once housed the distinguished
Lipman Wolfe Department Store and then the retailer
Frederick & Nelson, is now home to our 221-room
boutique hotel featuring almost all suites. Designer
Michael Booth of Babey-Moulton, San Francisco, took
advantage of the original soaring ceilings and picture
windows of the lobby and replaced molded plaster and
wood to the ceiling to mimic that of the original
store. Other details throughout this downtown hotel
are in keeping with the architectural preservation
so prevalent throughout Portland, Oregon.
