drinking destinations. Vacationers benefit from a
knowledgeable staff, and from the close proximity
to local attractions. Business travelers return for

Amenity highlights: Four outdoor pools,
an arcade, and a 24-hour fitness center, a sports
bar, an Irish pub, and romantic restaurants provide
just some of the options for relaxation. A variety

and chocolatier are available. Travelers can also
take a ride through the indoor gardens and streams
on a Delta River flatboat. Insider tip: The
General Jackson® Showboat, which cruises the Cumberland

quiet lobby are light country music and the occasional
whirring of the phone at the front desk. Large ferns
decorate sitting areas, and modern art prints adorn
walls. In a back hallway, which leads to the two hotel
restaurants, an exhibit of Maxwell House coffee memorabilia
sits behind glass. Guests periodically check e-mail
in the small business area. Amenity highlights:
A 24-hour fitness center provides a treadmill, elliptical
trainer, Nautilus, spa tub, sauna, and womens
and mens locker areas. A coin-operated laundry
and two on-site restaurants add convenience. Complimentary
shuttle service from early morning to night takes
guests to and from destinations within a five-mile
radius, which includes Music Row and downtown Nashville,
as well as the airport. Insider tip: In 1892,
grocer Joel Cheek developed a coffee blend and took
it to this Nashville hotel, the Maxwell House, to
be served. It was so popular that the Maxwell House
hotel management served no other--marking the beginning
of Maxwell House coffee.

What to expect: Located across the highway
from the convention center and Grand Ole Opry, and
within a half-mile of many Opryland attractions, this

only revolving rooftop ballroom, offers a popular

Insider tip: It's a 4-block walk to Hatch Show
Print on lower Broadway for some of Nashville's coolest
souvenirs. Hatch is famous for making block-type posters
